Happy New Year! TortDeform 2007 in Review
So much happened last year on Tort Deform. We talked about toxic toys (here and here), toxic trailers, and poisonous pet food (here and here); we followed developments in the 9/11 and Katrina tragedies (here and here); we detailed important events on the Hill including the hubbub around the retroactive immunity legislation for telecom companies and mobilization around the pro-consumer Arbitration Fairness Act. We covered crazy lawsuits like the Pearson Pants Suit, and crazy abuses of the system like Jamie Leigh Jones’ experience. I could go on and on.
In the spirit of looking back while looking forward, I’ve selected twelve blogs from TortDeform 2007—one from each month—that generated significant discussion in the comments section and that cover the spectrum of issues and perspectives you’ll find on TortDeform .
Enjoy! And on behalf of Tort Deform and all of its contributors, thank you for your continued readership and participation in the dialogue on civil justice. Let’s continue debating and discussing how to make the system work for real people with real grievances, and not just for corporations and the highly privileged. I’m sure there will be much to discuss in the New Year.
Best Wishes from TortDeform.Com!
