In Georgia State’s Highest Court Sides with Consumers - Twice

In two rulings this week representing significant victories for Georgia families, the Georgia Supreme Court upheld the statewide ban on predatory payday lending enacted in 2004, and upheld the protection of privacy rights of injured patients and their families who file medical negligence complaints in court. The Court’s ruling reaffirms that access to patients’ information must be balanced with privacy protections, and that defendants and plaintiffs must have equal access to information. (keep reading)
