N.Y. Workers Comp Reform Sails Through Senate

The New York State Senate on Tuesday passed legislation its backers hope will significantly reform the state’s workers’ compensation system and save employers as much as $1 billion.
The bill (S.3322), sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Joseph L. Bruno, would reduce employer costs, which are among the highest in the nation, by 10% to 15% percent and increase benefits for injured workers for the first time in more than a decade. (keep reading)
