State Farm’s Stalemate

All of us at the Scruggs Katrina Group are deeply disappointed that State Farm has decided to stop writing new policies for homeowners in Mississippi. The fact is that State Farm, Allstate, Nationwide, and other insurance companies owe thousands of families on the Mississippi Gulf Coast millions of dollars for unpaid Hurricane Katrina damage claims, and it is wrong for any insurance company to stop writing coverage in a state as punishment for having to pay claims that are owed under the policies. After all, this is a trillion dollar industry which made over $50 billion in profits last year. (keep reading)

They and Allstate will next announce that they no longer intend to write fire insurance on buildings made of or containing flammable materials.

I find it deeply disappointing that you would post the rantings of a banjo player. He allowed the din of a record setting 239 banjo players to play his Foggy Mountain Breakdown together, simultaneously setting a record for most annoying noise pollution.
