Bloomberg Changes Course to Fully Support Ground Zero Workers, Responders, and Residents: Adopts Recommendations of World Trade Center Health Panel

More to come on this after I read the full report Bloomberg just formally endorsed, but this change of events is enormously positive.

In short, it means that as the result of political pressures, media reporting, organizing, and advocacy Bloomberg realized that he was on the wrong side of this issue.

Once the most stalwart public opponent of helpful remedies for Ground Zero workers, responders, and residents, Bloomberg appears to have been swayed by the findings of this report on the health impacts of 9/11.

I almost don’t believe it, but it’s true.

Mayor Bloomberg Accepts Panel Recommendations to Expand Response to Health Impacts of Attack on the World Trade Center. Mayor Bloomberg today accepted a comprehensive set of recommendations that will seek to ensure a sustained, high-quality public health response for individuals experiencing 9/11-related health conditions.
