The Political Fallout of the Financial Security Over Human Security Business Model

I have written at length about how the decisions by government officials to pay short thrift to safety concerns at the Ground Zero site were likely attributable to a financial security over human security business model.

As a follow up to these numerous posts, I wanted people to be aware of the beginnings of what might be an enormous political fallout for Rudolph Guiliani: “America’s Mayor.”

He is the one who would be president in 2008, and who rose in prominence as a result of his response to 9/11.

But all of that may be coming to an end, because he simply did not put safety first.

Since he appeared in Americans’ living room as a figure of reassurance and grief five years ago, Rudy Giuliani’s public image has been defined by his performance on Sept. 11, 2001.
The day has made him one of the country’s most popular men, rich and the front-runner, according to some polls, for the GOP nomination for President.
But now his 9/11 aura is facing a challenge from critics who say he wasn’t prepared for the attacks and downplayed health risks in the aftermath. His allies dispute the claims. But within his circle, some are worried that a political opponent could hit Giuliani where he’s strongest.
