Alex Winslow is the Executive Director of Texas Watch, a statewide non-profit consumer advocacy organization dedicated to preserving our legal rights and ensuring a fair marketplace for consumers. Alex oversees all organizational, political, legislative, and research operations for the organization. Alex directs issue strategy, and leads program development. As Texas Watch’s primary media spokesperson, Alex has been quoted in every major newspaper in Texas, as well as national publications, including the New York Times and the San Francisco Chronicle. He has also made numerous television appearances and is a frequent guest on talk radio.
Alex has been named one of Texas’s Top 10 “Lobbyists for Causes” by the influential Texas political newsletter Capitol Inside, and he currently serves as a consumer representative to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).
Prior to coming to Texas Watch in 2004, Alex worked for several influential members of the Texas House of Representatives and worked on numerous political campaigns.
Alex holds a B. A. in Government from the University of Texas at Austin. He lives in Austin with his wife Caty, a Special Education teacher in the Austin I.S.D, and their daughter.
